Creativity in NetworkingBy Harvey Mathason, Contributing Writer Harvey's BioIn a networking event you have only a brief time to ingrain an impression on each person you meet. Here is where creativity comes into play. I’m talking about standing out without looking foolish. For example, I would not recommend wearing a hot pink outfit. Let me also emphasize that I am suggesting only one idea. I’m sure your imagination will bring forth many other ideas. The idea I suggest is to offer people a favor. The favor is in the form of useful information – websites or blogs. This information can be on the back of your business card or on a separate slip of paper. You can elect to use fancy paper such as parchment. If the information is presented on a separate piece of paper, include your contact information. Also, ask the person if they would like to have the information. I suggest the following websites and Blog: john@journalingtools.com Free journaling information www.thelearningweb.net Full text of the book TheLearningRevolution WWW.Mycoted,com Shows 200 creative techniques http://www.gocreate.com/workouts/ Right Brain Workouts http://www.cre8ng.com/welcome.shtml Alan Black, Creativity Guru.
