NetWorking Groups in the Mid-Atlantic Region

If you are a Networker in the Greater D.C. area you must know about “Team Network”. It was founded by Curt Kowalski in 1991. Through Curt’s leadership and vision Team Network has grown to 10 locations with an expansion plan to include two additional  locations by the end of this year. The areas of growth will be Frederick and Baltimore, Maryland.  Each group enjoys approximately 20 business people in unrelated businesses. This gives members exclusivity in their field. There is a twist, if a member has a unique business with no others in that industry they can Network at all locations unrestricted. 

I was fortunate to talk at length with Curt and he was very helpful explaining the inside workings and visions of Team Network along with their goals. What makes this group thrive you may ask?  Well one word comes out……FUN! This one very important word, FUN mixed with business keeps the membership and locations growing. Team Network presently is enjoying an 85 to 90% renewal rate with its members. They meet once a month at a “Marty”. Yes, it’s the combined words, Party and Meeting. This ensures everyone will have fun and enjoy networking while sharing their business with the group.

Team Network encourages members to do business with each other but, is not by a mandate. This eliminates the need to feel pressured to pass leads to one another. If warranted, they will have individual one-on-one meetings between themselves throughout the month. Through this process, special bonds of spirit, sincerity and warmth between the members are formed - they turn to each other because they want to and not because they are forced too. This also leads the members to a broader and deeper relationship, strengthening the group and the individuals alike allowing them to share their “rolodexes” with one another whenever the need arises.

The Team Network members enjoy special Mega-Marty’s, where they all meet and have fun at great events.  Examples of these events are a Pool “Marty”, Golf “Marty” or a Holiday “Marty”. Enjoying a networking event and at the same time having a fun and exciting time. This same fun is enjoyed at the various locations. Team Network’s monthly “Martys” are looked forward to every month. Members are doing business with pleasure, learning and sharing. They say…the people that play together stay together.
