Creativity in NetWorkingBy Harvey Mathason, Contributing Writer Harvey's BioOne way to get to know someone is to figure out what personal gift you would buy them. This is an exercise; buying a gift is not necessary to improve networking. Of course, if you decide to buy some people gifts that’s a plus. In order to buy a personal gift you would have to know someone’s personal interests, for example – hobbies, sports, likes in book and movies, desires of places to go or visit (remember you don’t have to really buy the gift). Mentally practice this idea with some people you already know. Ask yourself if you know them well enough to buy them a personal gift. This “know-the-gift” technique is a great way to align yourself with getting to know people. Contact Harvey Mathason at HarveyM@TheNationalNetWorker.com or Post a Comment on TNNW Blog. |
