NetWorking Within the Commercial or Investment Real Estate Sectors

If you do business within these sectors, then you have to check out the CCIM Institute , which is short for, Certified Commercial Investment Member. Not only is it a great source for real estate education, but an endless supply of nationwide networking!

The CCIM Institute offers the CCIM designation (which you must earn through taking their courses) and it is an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), which another great resource for networking. CCIM courses and events attract a cross-section of real estate and allied professionals from around the world, creating opportunities to build long-term business relationships.

The CCIM began over 40 years ago with commercial real estate investors who wanted to grow their businesses through education and networking. Education and networking remain the cornerstones of CCIM, and is the reason for its success.  It seems that education and networking seem to go hand in hand throughout the real estate industry, which is fine by me, as I am always trying to learn more and networking is so much fun!

There are local chapters and regions that represent and promote the CCIM curriculum throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada. Maintaining relationships with other prominent real estate organizations nationally, the CCIM network is a powerful source for developing business throughout the nation. They offer local meetings and conferences nationwide, giving plenty of time for networking.

The CCIM partners program includes brokers, leasing professionals, investment counselors, asset managers, appraisers, corporate real estate executives, property managers, developers, institutional investors, commercial lenders, attorneys, bankers and other allied professionals.  In order to become a CCIM partner, you must become a designee, by taking their course and paying a fee of $495.00 per year.  But if you primarily do business within the commercial real estate industry, it all seems well worth it.  Education is never lost and with over 7500 designee members nationwide, the networking opportunities are limitless!

To become a member or to find a chapter near you, go to www.ccim.com or for $45, sign up to receive the CCIM magazine at www.ciremagazine.com.  Their online edition is free!

Wishing all Networking Success!
