Creativity in NetWorkingBy Harvey Mathason, Contributing Writer Harvey's BioThe Power of Four In planning a networking lunch, I highly recommend inviting a total of four people. With four people you stimulate the exchange of information and markedly decrease the cross-talk and distraction. I learned this idea of inviting four people to lunch from a friend, Don Koestler, who teaches Leadership and Systems Theory at Drexel University. I have had many stimulating lunches with Don and two other people. We have found that you don’t need a theme. The conversation will lead you to where you want to go. To make the converstion more interesting consider inviting special guests such as authors, professors or or other people that would add special interest to your luncheon. Take a chance. All you have to do is call. Please accept this article as a challenge to arrange for a foursome at lunch. For those who take action and arrange for a lunch, I would appreciate feedback on how your lunch went. Contact Harvey Mathason at HarveyM@TheNationalNetWorker.com or Post a Comment on TNNW Blog. |
