Are You A Progress Agent?By Peter Biadasz, Southern Plains Bureau Chief
Peter's Bio
Recently I had the pleasure of talking with Dean Lindsay, founder of www.ProgressAgents.com and author of Cracking the Networking Code. Based just outside Dallas, Lindsay is an expert in helping others reach the next level in networking excellence. “Turn people onto you by tuning into them,” he says. To do this, “Get interested in them: their needs, their lives, their interests. Share in their successes.” “By asking questions of others, one can meet the goal of tuning into others,” he adds. “By tuning into them to aid in their progress, either professionally or personally, you act as an agent for their progress in life. Thus, you are a progress agent.” We all love networking events. Lindsey points out that “there’s a big difference between meeting someone and building a priceless business relationship. Networking is a creative process.” This leads us to the networking C.O.D.E.
Networkers build those priceless relationships. A progress agent “provides progress for the lives of others and offers the promise of progress.” You, too can become a progress agent and take your networking effectiveness to the next highest level.
