The Networking-Blogging ConnectionBy SCOTT R. FORCINO Esq., Legal Editor Email article to a friend This month I had the good fortune to meet and connect with Joe Ferrara Esq. of www.sellsiusrealestate.com/ and the sellsuius blog. Joe has practiced law for 25 years in New York City. Joe and his co-founder of Sellsius, Rudy Bachraty III networked nationally this past summer on their "blog tour" for thirty-two days and also founded www.blogtourusa.com for others to follow their progress and the itinerary. Joe and Rudy left New York and embarked on the blog tour to:
These bloggers/drivers took off to San Fransisco to speak at the Inman Conference. This cross-country trip got the attention they sought and promoted blogging all the way. They met other bloggers and brokers/agents and publishers of online real estate content and met all types of people in the thirty cities they visited. Joe and Rudy networked when they attended speaking events, city tours, dinners and sponsorship meetings. Every other real estate blogger they met wrote about the blog tour on their own blogs and posted photos/video and spread the news about the trip. This was great viral marketing and online networking with peers and those new to blogging. Even their attempts to secure sponsorships represented networking amongst real estate professionals. Specifically, all the expenses were paid by web-sites and online publishers known by Mr. Ferrara. Through targeted networking Joe formed alliances with news sources such as Inman News and Rismedia. Sellsius was characterized as "news media" by Rismedia at its recent event and Inman News asked Joe and Rudy to speak at their conference recently. This, of course, provided an excellent networking opportunity with real estate industry visionaries and vendors present and in the mood to connect. As an attorney, Joe practiced law within the real estate discipline and as such, has many contacts with broker-owners and agents and lawyers. The blog tour helped build brand awareness and credibility for Sellsius, which was formed to consult with individuals and companies on the use of blogs and the tools & technology to conduct business and connect with clients and the real estate industry. Joe is a great example of an attorney who expanded his horizons by exploring the tsunami of connectivity within the real estate industry and the "blogosphere." The goal is to demonstrate the value of blogging to members of the industry and to consult with those members of the industry who can appreciate or wish to understand the use of this new and important medium. Any comments or questions regarding blogging and the influence of blogging within the real estate industry please call Joe Ferrara Esq at jf.sellsius@gmail.com or 215.990.1016
