Living Arts National Foundation

In the wake of September 11, 2001, Sian Lindemann struggled to place a higher purpose, some sense of explanation, to the unimaginable tragedy. Like many Americans, and indeed many citizens of the global community, Sian sought to create a positive result out of the stunning disaster.

A lifelong artist, Sian knew the potential impact of beauty on individuals, on communities and on the world. Artistic expression transcends logic, defies explanation and extracts our inner-most held beliefs and values. Art compels ordinary citizens to commit acts of remarkable generosity and selflessness. Art levels the playing field, revealing in even the most diverse groups commonalities in spirit and mutual regard for the human experience.

In her quest to bring more artistic beauty into the world, Sian identified two significant barriers:

Lack of business acumen in talented artists, which leaves them unable to market their product and unable to earn a living by creating art.

Lack of support for artistic expression in open space, in both rural and metro areas.

Thus Living Arts National Foundation was created to address these needs.

Our Mission

Through form, color, life, landscape, and design, we affirm that art, beauty and enrichment are essential elements contributing to our continued success here on earth.

Our Proposal

Start-up funding has been committed by an artist currently engaged as a client of Sian Lindemann. In recognition of Sian’s vision and talent, the artist will donate 25% of net proceeds from a current business venture, estimated at $600,000 in year one. We seek to match this contribution with donations from our community: fellow artists and business colleagues who appreciate the power of our mission.

As emerging artists achieve financial success through participation in Living Arts programs, we will request that they “give back” to the foundation, thus establishing perpetual funding to ensure that we may serve the next generation of talent.
