I met Craig through LinkedIn.com and he helped us with a project in Calgary that brought together all the major oil and gas associations to help address the lack of people in Calgary. The project was very successful with over 60 senior oil and gas executives attending. This is the kind of network Craig has in Calgary.

Craig is a Dadpreneur, which means he is a stay at home Dad three days a week while being the consummate entrepreneur. Craig’s core network is his 10,000 connections which he maintains and grows by about 1,000 connections a year. Craig is an early adopter of technology, one of the first several thousand on LinkedIn and full time user of Plaxo. Craig knows everything about using the technology to maintain and connect with a huge number of connections.

Craig’s passions (beside his family) is helping start-up entrepreneurs and promoting the Trigger-Based Selling™. Trigger based selling is about identifying key times when customers are ready to buy. You can find out more about Trigger Selling at Craig’s blog at www.Shiftselling.com.

Craig’s outreach is far and wide. He teaches at six different entrepreneurial schools in Alberta, five in Calgary and the surrounding area. He regularly travels to Edmonton to teach in another school there. The schools are part of a program called Self Employment Learning where local entrepreneurs gather and learn about how to start and launch their own businesses. A core skill Craig teaches is how to network and keep in touch with a large personal network.

Another exciting event that Craig is part of is the CPSA Corporate Sales Challenge. The challenge is a full day event where 100 people in ten different teams compete to decide who is the greatest sales person. The judges are the top 10 sales trainers in North America. If you are an entrepreneur or a sales person in Calgary, the CPSA Corporate Sales Challenge on April 23, 2008 is something you want to be part of.

I recommend that you connect up with Craig, his strategies have won him a $1,000,000 prize in a global “Billion-Dollar Idea” pitch competition and have resulted in coverage on NBC news, in The New York Times, The National Post, Sales and Marketing magazine, and The Nikkei Marketing Journal along with earning his last company the distinction as one of Dow Jones’ 50 most promising companies in North America.

While the measurements are not in, I suspect Craig is the most networked person in the City of Calgary. Its fair to say that Craig uses his computer keyboard like a piano, only instead of Bach, Craig plays the music of Plaxo, Outlook, and LinkedIn.

Till Next Month!
