LawGuruBy SCOTT R. FORCINO Esq., Legal Editor This month I reviewed a web-site named www.lawguru.com. This site comprises an online community of over five-thousand (5000) attorneys in the U.S. maded up of solo practitioners and law firms. The purpose is to gain exposure for an attorney's firm by reaching new clients by providing information and to be seen as a resource in their practice area. All members automatically get legal questions from potential clients in all specialty areas and geographic location. Further, there is ample opportunity for attorneys to network with other attorneys beyond their professional scope and state boundaries. This is a valuable chance to create relationships within the profession. There is no cost to join. All attorney members are listed in the directory and have access to "members'-only message forums", archived legal articles, research tools/forms and career center. Attorneys can advertise their firm or services on targeted pages of the LawGuru Knowledge Base. This advertisement usually results in over 50 visitors per day searching for an attorney within the advertisers' field of expertise and geographic area. There is some degree of exclusivity granted to attorneys who advertise within a certain practice and territorial area. If it seems that there is a social network for everyone, you're probably right. Professionals have a need to gain exposure for their services/offerings and connecting to their own spheres of influence is a productive, no cost approach. Attorneys can demonstrate their value as an informational resource to prospective clients through the q & a aspect of LawGuru.com. Attorneys and clients alike should utilize LawGuru.com to learn and connect with members of the lagal profession to network and gain exposure for their own professional practices.
