Cherish Your Network

Cherish is a word that we rarely use – yet this captures exactly how we want the people in our networks to feel. When people feel cherished, they know that they are thought of fondly; treated with kindness and tenderness; and greatly appreciated simply for being who they are. This holiday season, find ways to let the people in your network know that you cherish them, especially family and your inner circle.

Affirm Your Inner Circle

It is easy to take for granted those people who were in our networks before networking became popular. Old friends, family members, mentors and teachers enjoy knowing how much you appreciate them. Find special ways to share with them how they have enriched your life, either by doing something or just being with them. Affirm them and make this holiday season memorable and very special.

Acknowledge People and What They Do

Acknowledging people and their contributions builds loyalty and trust. Encourage each person in your network to savor the moment in which you share something that you appreciate, admire or value about them. It takes fewer than two minutes and creates a stronger emotional bond between you. People may forget what you do, but they will never forget how you make them feel.

An Attitude of Gratitude

Pour out, onto everyone in your network, an attitude of gratitude. Focusing on and appreciating the gifts that each has brought into your life is sure to generate energy of abundance around you. Be sincere and specific about how each individual has helped you and contributed to your success. While this is a very giving posture, it is also enlightened self-interest, for you multiply that to which you give your attention.

Joyous Holidays!
